Université Polytechnique International Du Benin – UPIB, belongs to a recent generation of world class tertiary institutions. When UPIB was established in September 1992, the prevailing socio-political environment in Benin Republic, was one in which private universities were virtually non-existent. In that regard, UPIB became a pioneer and leading provider of high quality tertiary education in Benin, and across West Africa.
Its mission was initially to train polytechnic students who would receive BTS (diploma BAC + 2). However, following the turnout of the first Beninese graduates in BTS, coupled with the realization of the needs of an increasingly complex business world, which required higher level executives, the need for training beyond formal (BAC+ 2) became obvious.
UPIB’s mission is to train men and women with a global vision of the world, who will apply their acquired knowledge and expertise to useful ends, wherever and whenever the opportunities arise.
To achieve this mission, UPIB has formed partnerships with leading national and international universities.
