The International Polytechnic University of Benin is a recent generation university. It has sprouted through the International Polytechnic Education Complex of Benin which is one of its components.
Indeed, the UPIB was created in September 1992 in a socio-political environment where the private high school was almost non-existent on the national territory. His mission was initially to train to the brevet of superior technician, diploma BAC + 2.
After having initiated and trained the first Beninese students to the BTS in Benin, and taking into account the evolution more and more complex of the environment of the companies As a result, demanding higher-level managers, the need to train beyond BAC + 2 began to be felt. CEPIB-Formation, in partnership with Grandes Ecoles, has initiated training courses of the BAC + 3, BAC + 4 and BAC + 5 type.
The experience acquired, the dynamism and the dimension that the Complex takes on the national and sub-regional level have earned the status of University, on October 15, 2005 by ministerial decree.
Thus, the UPIB has become a private university comprising two vocational schools: the International Polytechnic Education Complex of Benin (CEPIB-Training) and the University School of Management (EUM).
Its vocation is to train women and men with a global vision of the world and able to assert themselves wherever the opportunities to exercise arise, in short, citizens of the world.
To develop this vision, the UPIB has forged partnerships with major national and international schools and universities.
